Director, Special Events

 

 We have opportunities in White Plains, NY, Hackensack, NJ, Elizabeth, NJ and Parsippany, NJ. 

 

Position Summary:   

 

Recruit and work with volunteers to successfully implement a special events action plan that focuses on one or two of our signature events ? Relay for Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Golf and/or various Galas. 

 

Essential Functions:

 Must be able to develop and maintain key relationships within assigned regions.Recruit and train volunteers on events as well and defining expectations.Must be able to cultivate, motivate and mobilize volunteer committees in planning, recruiting teams and building a successful Relay for Life, Galas, and/or Golf events.Proven volunteer experience where your leadership style facilitates successful event planning and fund-raising.  Marketing and sales experience a plus.Identify and secure sponsorships.Excellent presentation and communication skillsMust be computer / data base savvy.

Required Skills:

 Successful fund raising or sales experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (Team Player) Experience recruiting, training and delegating to volunteers Demonstrated organizational and time management skills  Ability to handle multiple tasks  Can solve problems independently
