Elder Protective Service Supervisor

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Protective Service (PS) staff and administer programs that deliver services to elderly persons determined to be suffering from a reportable condition of abuse or self-neglect.

DUTIES:

A. Supervise designated Protective Service staff.

1. Assist in the interviewing process, orient new staff members and provide ongoing training.

2. Meet with PS staff during regularly scheduled supervisory sessions. Act as a screener for staff to determine whether there is reasonable cause to believe that a reportable condition exists, whether an emergency or non-emergency exists and to formulate service plans.

3. Facilitate client services: Maintain system to monitor caseworker workload and visit schedule; monitor investigations/assessments and approve service plans and goals; keep updated on resources and programmatic information.

4. Review client files and other related paperwork, providing written

and verbal feedback. Monitor compliance with regulations.

5. Conduct staff performance evaluations.

B. Assure PS caseload is distributed appropriately.

C. Complete all statistical reports related to the job.

D. Achieve an acceptable level of proficiency in computer programs required for client reporting.

Job Requirements:



1. LICSW or MSW PREFERRED. Masters degree from an accredited school of social work with at least two years protective service experience.

OR

A bachelors degree from an accredited school plus five years of experience.

2. Experience must be in areas of counseling, casework, or case management in a human services agency providing protective or crisis intervention services.

3. Previous supervisory experience highly desirable.

4. Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.

5. Sensitivity to elder issues.



6. Intermediate computer skills.

Salary: $46k- $49k for full-time, 35 hour work week
