Facility Manager

Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Our active and growing off sites in the DC/northern Virginia area provide government with consulting services. Battelle is seeking an Facility Manager for our DC/Northern Virginia Operations. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package will be provided. Position location:  Crystal City, VA.

The position responsibilities are as follows:
Performs financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis and reporting for three primary DC/Northern Virginia offices. Communicates and facilitates matters that pertain to the overall DC/Northern Virginia facility operation with the appropriate staff and management at Battelle Columbus and other regional locations. Manages the Administration, Facilities, and Conference Service functions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Directs, plans and coordinates activities for the support functions that include Administration, Facilities, Safety, Building Security, and Shipping & Receiving.

2. Performs financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for an annual one million dollar location support services budget.

3. Interprets contract and ensures compliance with the building landlords on any problems, and the resolution thereof, in our leased office space (i.e. security, water, floods, parking, HVAC, etc.).

4. Performs the role of Building Emergency Director for the DC/Northern Virginia offices.

5. Position includes purchasing of goods and services through Battelle's purchase order system and oversight of small purchases by administrative staff through Battelle?s P-card business purchasing system

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requires a Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Facility Management or a minimum of 5- 7 years experience in facility management, accounting and/or finance including financial analysis and working knowledge of contract procedures. Previous managerial experience leading several functional areas required.
