Location: Lakeland, Florida(covers Polk County)

 

Title: Family Specialist 

 

Hours: Full time. Flexible schedule. Occasional evenings & weekends.

 

Position Description:

Responsible for interviewing match applicants, as applicable, finishing all background checks and references, conducting the home visit, if applicable, and pre-matching the volunteer with the child.  Provides counseling and group support as directed by grant funding.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

? Participate as a member of a Team for the purpose of creating, supporting and sustaining high volume, high quality Big/Little matches. 

? Participate in team planning, continuous quality improvement efforts and corrective actions. 

? Meet or exceed all customer service standards for customer contact, scheduling interviews, and timely completion of necessary paperwork and documentation

? Interview match applicants, update files and data base as background information is returned, secure missing information, document all contact, and conduct home visits (if necessary).

? Prepare Volunteer Profile for matching, prepare client?s pre-match needs assessment, and meet with Match Specialist (whomever interviewed volunteer), as applicable, to select child for match

? Complete Pre-Match requirements per Casework Manual, and pass files on to Match Support Specialist.

? Attend agency meetings, including but not limited to team meetings, individual supervision, group and individual supervision towards licensure, trainings and general staff meetings

? Provide counseling to referred families as directed by Service Delivery Director and as grants dictates

? Conduct parent, child and volunteer groups as grants dictate

? Target recruit client referrals for the team

? Seek training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge pertinent to position

? Participate in community committees as requested by Service Delivery Director

? Complete recruitment presentations as requested

? Work with the Team to compile data requested by funding sources and complete grant reports

? Participate in and support agency fundraising events

? Serve as the initial provider of customer service to the client family and/or volunteer from the program staff. 

 

Position Requirements:

? Master?s Degree in Clinical Social Work or Counseling. 

? State certification as a mental health intern. 

? Two years experience in counseling (may be during internship)

? Ability to effectively interact with diverse and multicultural groups of people

? Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver license.  Must travel to local communities and neighborhoods.

? Drug screen and Criminal background investigation required at time of hire.

 

Salary/Benefits:

$27,500 . Full paid benefits by the agency.

 

Agency pays for the supervision towards licensure
