Food Services Training Instructor

The Food Services Training Instructor is responsible for training clients to perform general utility of the cafeteria. Tasks include: oversees food service activities to include preparation and serving, evaluates prepared foods, inspects food service area to insure compliance with practices and sanitation, instructs and directs clients in cleaning of areas, evaluates client performance and meets with Case Managers to discuss progress review. Ensures cleanliness and compliance of food service areas. *Coordinates and co-directs culinary arts vocational training program with Job Coach. *Develops, implements, and maintains lesson plans for clients in evaluation food service training to include: (a) situational instruction (i.e., bussing, dishwashing, food prep, general utility) (b) related labs (c) grading structure and evaluation procedures. *Maintains appropriate training records and documentation of training progress. Maintains all records and documents as required by licensing. *Ensures compliance with food service regulations and requirements. *To participate in weekly staff meetings, case conferences, in-service training and other meetings as designated by administration. *Coordinates menu to meet program needs, coordinates food service supply inventory and equipment. *Prepares food for approximately 200 people every day. *Handles all catering and vending needs within the Agency.

Qualifications

Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.

Is team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals.

Previous experience with diverse populations and/or in a similar setting preferred.

Bachelor's degree in food services or related field and/or equivalent experience providing training in specific area. Competence with menu planning, supervision, food service training, culinary arts and culinary preparation.
