Fund Raising Manager

Summary Responsible for implementing and carrying out a fund raising and distribution plan for Academic Relations Department and The IIA Research Foundation according to pre-approved criteria through business development activities, marketing, interaction with educators and other professionals, and assessing customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop, implement and evaluate a fundraising plan with goals, initiatives and metrics
Identify and cultivate donors, communicate and develop ongoing relationships with donors and potential donors.
Support the IIA?s and IIARF?s overall goals for the fiscal year for both Academic Relations (AR) and Research Foundation (RF).
Create a development strategy for cultivation and solicitation of donors.
Conduct solicitations and appropriate follow up actions resulting in annual fund gifts from cultivated prospects. Record and recognize each gift.
Working with IIA volunteers, and IIARF staff members, further develop the tiered giving program, including the Master Key Program and the William G. Bishop III, CIA Memorial Fund.
Develop and coordinate the publication of all written communications to solicit and acknowledge gifts, including appeal letters, acknowledgment letters, reminders and special communications.
Participate in staff strategy planning and update sessions to ensure the IIARF?s and Academic Relations direction is clearly understood and the role and goals of fund raising can support the Foundation?s and Academic Relations identified strategic direction.
Maintain professional fund raising competence to ensure that the most effective strategies are incorporated into all fund raising processes.
Manage and coordinate the disbursement of funds obtained efficiently and effectively according to a pre-approved disbursement plan for Academic Relations Department including the development of a reporting system for schools receiving funds.
Design, evaluate and manage educator and student grant and scholarship competitions.
Monitor all EIAP school reports and summary report from Academic Relations Specialist to determine compliance with EIAP criteria and maintain a risk matrix assessing schools compliance.
Coordinate with Academic Relations Specialist to develop and submit material for the Educator newsletter
Serves as the primary contact with the Communications Department to ensure Educator newsletter contains appropriate articles and focus.
Requires excellent people skills to be able to work with volunteers and customers of Academic Relations from around the world.
Other duties as required by Director, Academic Relations and VP Research Foundation.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree (BA) or equivalent; or four to eight years? related experience and/or training; in such areas as Grant Writing, College or University Fund Raising activities, not-for profit organizations. A Master?s degree would be an asset. Experience with an association and well as an international organization would be an asset to The IIA and its global goals.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Multiple language ability is an asset in any role within The IIA.
Computer Skills
Intermediate or higher ability to work in a computerized environment with a working knowledge of most Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Access data base software would be a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) or Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) would be an asset.
