Grants Manager
POSITION: Grants Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Regular, Salaried, Non-exempt
JOB LOCATION: Pillsbury United Communities, 1201 37thAvenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55412

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Proven ability to write grant proposals to raise approximately $1,000,000 in non-governmental, non-United Way dollars.
2. Ability to manage multiple writing projects (grant proposals and reports in progress).
3. Ability to contribute to department operations as a team member and leader.
4. Ability to work with diverse staff and volunteers.
5. Ability to collaborate with colleagues on projects and initiatives.
6. Knowledge and understanding of the cycles of poverty and effects of racism.
7. Ability to adapt to changing needs and desires of the agency.
8. Bachelor?s degree and experience in nonprofit grant writing or related experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Plan, organizes, directs and evaluates a comprehensive corporate and foundation relations program including ongoing contact (mail e-mail, telephone and personal visits) with current and potential grantors.
2. Researches foundations, corporate foundations and corporations to determine matches between their philanthropic interests and agency program priorities and objectives. Specifically the Grants Manager determines areas of mutual interest, range of grants available and appropriate strategies for cultivation and solicitation (proposal submission).
3. Writes proposals and / or edits and collates the writing done by others. Manages an internal proposal creation process to craft proposals that address specific program priorities by matching these priorities to funding priorities of foundations, corporate foundations and other grantors.
4. Plans and executes a comprehensive stewardship program for foundations and corporate foundations including submission of timely and appropriate reports, gift acknowledgements donor recognition.
5. Prepares a comprehensive annual development plan including budget projections for foundations and corporations.
