Position Description:
MANAGER, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
Innovative and rapidly growing youth development organization is seeking experienced, team-oriented candidate to manage resource development/alumni functions that impact the creative development of American teenagers. The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers have built a community of support by identifying and forming relationships with organizations and individuals that leverage resources for our nation?s emerging young artists and writers. All of the activities undertaken by the Alliance accrue to supporting the creative development of teenagers.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Relations, the Manager, Resource Development is responsible for managing the resource development/alumni operations to support generating contributed revenue and sustaining donor relationships. The Manager, Resource Development is responsible for oversight of two major areas: 1) Donor solicitation support 2) Donor stewardship. The Manager, Resource Development works closely with a cross-departmental team led by the Senior Manager, External Relations in conjunction with the Director of Internal Operations/IT.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree and 3 or more years of related experience working in a role that includes managing complex projects and relationships, preferably in an environment serving multiple audiences
Demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets with exposure to all facets of fund raising, including annual fund, major gifts, campaigns and experience in long-term relationship building
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
Proven ability to effectively develop and manage projects, staff, and budgets
Experience with online marketing, direct mail and cross-channel marketing in for-profit or non-profit settings, highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to develop, as well as implement, strategic plans and budgets for complex program initiatives that are highly reliant on a broad base of external partners and constituents
Experience mobilizing and engaging communities in a wide range of multi-channel activities, online and off.
Solid understanding of Internet tools, processes and techniques for membership development, advocacy campaigns, and list-building
Strong fact-based analytic skills
Focused on delivering results and meeting goals; ability to meet deadlines, often within very tight timeframes.
Excellent verbal and written communication (online and print) and inter-personal skills, exceptional attention-to-detail and organizational skills; hands-on self-starter
Develop creative strategy/write copy for online and offline materials
Knowledge and proficiency with Blackbaud?s The Raisers Edge highly desirable
