Marketing Communications & Public Relations Manager

This is an administrative position that is responsible for developing media relationships, preparing public service announcements (PSAs), newsletters, press releases, speeches, and other written materials as needed to generate favorable publicity, with a major emphasis on expanding the public knowledge of UWBC community activities.  The individual in this position will:

 

*Manage the production of marketing communications in support of the strategic plan.

*Assist in the development and implementation of the marketing plan, and the departmental work plan.

*Ensure effective and timely marketing and communications support to staff.

*Ensure communication efforts adhere to budget and brand guidelines.

*Ensure projects are scheduled for review, proofreading and approvals in a timely manner.

*Assist in planning/implementing market research projects and facilitate use in strategic development.

*Assist in training staff on United Way's brand and key messages.

*Write and edit copy for various applications (print, advertising, press releases).

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

At least three (3) years relevant work experience. Must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple marketing communication projects. Experience in copy writing for marketing communications, and effective verbal and written communications skills are required. Market research knowldege and/or experience preferred. Non-profit experience a plus. Must be self starter, requiring minimum supervision. The ability to work with volunteers and with a committee/board process in implementing strategies, plans and projects is a must.

 

Must be fully bilingual (English-Spanish)
