Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of highly sophisticated and fully functional data networking and peripheral telecommunications architectures. The candidate must possess an extensive knowledge of Cisco network equipment with recent experience designing and deploying enterprise scale routed and switched networks. The candidate will be required to prepare technical design and implementation documentation using Microsoft application software, including Word, Visio and PowerPoint. The candidate will be a member of the IT Services team and will be capable of making significant decisions alone, based on a sound analytical approach. They will demonstrate the ability to time-manage and prioritize, take a pro-active approach to improving network services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies. The candidate will provide network and technical support across all operating systems. In practice, the candidate's time will be spent in covering three main areas: Installing and configuring new network components, Implementation of network management (monitoring and alerting) solutions, and support of networked services. Troubleshooting, testing, and resolving network and telecom problems as required. Technical experience should include Telephony and Network architecture concepts, routing technologies and services. Candidate must have understanding and knowledge of PBX's, call routing and ACD Systems. Candidate will participate in on-call rotation.
