Program Assistant

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 

The New York State Child Advocacy Resource and Consultation Center (CARCC), a program of Safe Horizon, was established in April of 1996 through a grant from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. CARCC?s mission is to work with multidisciplinary teams and child advocacy centers throughout New York State to promote and enhance coordinated responses to child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, and child fatality reviews. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide administrative and program support for the operation and management of the New York State Child Advocacy Resource and Consultation Center (CARCC).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Write and proofread correspondence, reports, memoranda and other documents;Process all paperwork between program and main office departments ? including necessary follow-up communication;Manage all fiscal needs for program ? including submitting payment requests, follow-up communication, tracking expenditures in Excel, reviewing vouchers, etc;Maintain staff calendars, all office files, and inventory of office supplies;Arrange updating, printing, assembly, and mailing of materials for trainings;Schedule and coordinate statewide meetings, teleconferences, and videoconferences ? including negotiations with hotels, scheduling rooms, confirming catering, etc;Maintain Access database ? including reports, data-entry, and regular updates;Assist in the maintenance of program website; andComplete special project tasks as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor?s Degree1-2 years related experience specifically in administrative workExcellent writing, editing, proofreading skillsStrong intuition, problem solving skills, and detailed organizational styleSignificant attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Internet researchAbility to anticipate and prioritize needs, juggle multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracyAbility to work independently in a small officeDemonstrable experience and/or interest in child abuse issues
