SUMMARY
This part-time grant-funded position maintains accurate documentation of Successful Parent participants. Basic computer, filing, and office skills needed. This position could end if the grant ends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Maintain accurate documentation of Work First Successful Parents participant activities as specified by Peckham Inc., Department of Human Services, and Capital Area Michigan Works! Daily
2. Assist with mailings and phone calls. Daily
3. Track and monitor activity sheets and documentation. Daily
4. Set up and maintain WF Successful Parents program files in conjunction with Successful Parents Employment Specialist. Daily
5. Copy and collate class materials. As needed
6. Organize research materials. As needed
7. Provide coverage for Employment Specialist. As needed
8. Monitor and assist participants during break and lunch times. Daily
9. Provide good customer service for all Work First Successful Parents participants. Daily
10. Provide job seeking skills training. As needed
11. Assist with e-mail account and resume creation for participants. Daily
12. At 3 months postpartum monitor employment and DHS participation. As needed
13. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Daily
14. Utilize a team work approach for all projects. Daily
15. Promote Peckham?s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders. Daily
16. Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards. Daily
17. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or 2 years equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft office computer software use with the ability to type 40 wpm.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMMENTS
Team work and customer service is a top priority. Must have reliable transportation and pass a background check. Bilingual skills highly preferred.
