Regional Walk Coordinator, Western
The Regional Walk Coordinator handles assigned aspects of the WALK program and is responsible for achieving budgeted annual revenue targets for walks in their assigned region.
The Alliance for Lupus Research is a growing non-profit and we are expanding to the West coast. The National office is located in New York City but the position will be offsite in the assigned region. We are looking for qualified candidates all over the US but are targeting the San Francisco/Bay Area currently.
Recruitment:
First point of contact for incoming calls from WALK chairs, volunteer leads, captains or individual participants for assigned territory and/or walk. All ?leads? are entered into the database and online Walk fundraising system and tracked for follow-up and development purposes.
Secondary point of contact for incoming calls or leads for potential WALK site development in the region.
Walk responsibilities include:
o Establish projected income goals and develop and implement plans and strategies for meeting income goals for each Walk in the Region.
o Identify and implement new WALK markets and territories in the region through lead analysis, recruitment of WALK volunteer groups and committees, and overall market potential.
o Direct management of assigned walk chairs, committees, captains and volunteers.
o Develop timeline for each walk ?season.? Timeline should include deadlines for securing permits, material ordering deadlines, sponsorship inclusion deadlines
o Target and recruit corporate team chair
o Identify and recruit sponsors and secure sponsorship income for each Walk
o Recruit walk chair and committee members, team captains, as well as individual walkers and secure maximum income from each individual and team
o Weekly review with Walk Manager and Walk Director of retention and revenue reports for walks assigned
o Maintain weekly communication including phone contact with walk chairs, sponsors, captains and individual walk leads
o Conduct informational, corporate and recruitment presentations
o Create and distribute weekly email updates to all volunteer participants beginning immediately after the kick-off and to continue for the full 8-weeks leading up to event day and a post-event thank you.
o Ensure that all materials provided and utilized are in accordance with National policy and best practices.
o Ensure all walk day event activities and logistics are in place.
o Work with Walk Manager and Walk Director to coordinate travel and meeting plans for assigned walk events including:
? Committee Meetings, Kick-off meetings, walk date and post walk award requirements
? Attend assigned events and fulfill all event day obligations
? Ensure post event follow-up including attendance at award reception, thank you letter?s with survey and the tracking of responses
All Staff Responsibilities:
Attend committee meetings, kickoffs, corporate info meetings, walks and award dinners. Integrate Walk fundraising efforts with overall development department fundraising activities.
Qualifications: College degree required. Five plus years experience in a fundraising office, managing special events, preferably walkathons. Strong interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills. Documented track record of fundraising success. Experience with volunteer management required. Some travel required.
This position will work out of a home office in California.
