Resource Development Director

TITLE:  Resource Development Director

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Executive Director

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the planning, implementation and achieving goals of the annual fundraising campaign and other activities in support of the Executive Director and Untied Way objectives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:    Fund Raising and Resource Development

 

1.  Direct the annual campaign planning and development, including strategies and schedules.

 

2.  Assist in developing operating polices and procedures related to the annual campaign.

 

3.  Manages the organization and development of the appropriate campaign structure through which community-wide support for fundraising is achieved.

 

4.  Assist in recruitment of highest level of leadership possible of campaign volunteers.

 

5.  Develop and manages campaign related orientation and training sessions.

 

6.  Develop and manages the Loaned Employee program.

 

7.  Assist with the management of the software program used in data management, particularly within the campaign structure to ensure accuracy of information.  Maintains complete and organized files on campaign and accounts in general.

 

8.  Analyze and reports regularly on campaign progress and prepares post campaign evaluation and analysis reports.

 

9.  Prepare research and related proposals of trends and forecast on campaign as directed.

 

10.  Assist with annual giving, corporate giving, foundation support, major gifts, planned giving and grant writing.

 

11.  Work with Communications Committee on the development of campaign materials.

 

12.  Maintain a working knowledge of the economic and social forces to the community?s ability to finance volunteer health and human services through the United Way?s program of fundraising.

 

13.  Represent the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata to the community in general and at public events.

 

14.  Assist the Executive Director as assigned and acts in place of Executive Director when requested.

 

 

15.  Recommend procedures and ideas on a regular basis.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

 

  1.  Report to the Executive Director

 

2.  Provide staff support for the Campaign Cabinet throughout the planning and implementation

  and follow-up of the annual fundraising campaign.

 

  2.  Maintain communications with all other United Way staff, with campaign leadership, and

  with corporate and individual givers.

 

  3.  Work in cooperative manner with all staff.

 

  4.  Keep regular contact with United Way Executive Committee, Board of Directors, the

  business community, and partner agency staff and volunteers.

 

 

 

EDUCATION/NEEDED KNOWLEDGE:

 Training:  Professional exposure to development techniques and management via courses/seminars or conferences is preferred.

 Experience:  Three to five years of fundraising experience required and additional management experience preferred.  Volunteer management experience would also be helpful.
