SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

 Kids Hope United, a not-for-profit, family services agency serving more than 15,000 children and their families is seeking a passionate, dedicated Special Education Teacher for our CARE Residential Treatment center located in Lake Villa, IL.The CARE program operates a three-classroom nonpublic special education facility in Lake Villa, IL . There is a classroom for students ages 10-14 and two classrooms for high school students age 14-18. The rooms consist of ten students with two teachers aides, the teacher, and a therapist to help youth referred from public schools succeed in meeting educational requirements while addressing issues of behavior as well as family problems.

Masters degree preferred, special education certification requiredSpecific Responsibilities Include:Teach up to 10 BD/LD children ages 14-18Help youth learn to manage emotions/behaviorsCurriculum and lesson plan developmentParticipate as active team memberMaintain structure of environment This is a full time position that will require some evenings and weekends.
