Speech Director

The Help Group is the nation?s largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children with special needs related to autism, Asperger's disorder, learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, mental retardation, abuse and emotional problems.

The Help Group is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy to lead our SLP/OT team at all San Fernando Valley and Westside locations.  The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with solid experience as a working manager.  Expertise in school-based service coordination and program development is strongly desired, as well an aptitude for managing cross-functional clinical teams at multiple sites. 

 

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee all Speech & Language and Occupational Therapy services at four different campusesConduct weekly supervision with Senior SLP?s, SLP Clinical Leads, OT Supervisors, CF Supervisors and Clinical FellowsCoordinate caseloads, establish monthly service objectives and monitor progress on departmental productivity goalsInterface with School Administration, IEP Office, Quality Assurance Department and Accounting to ensure seamless service coordination and timely submission of billing and service logsProvide training and staff development opportunities during weekly supervision, regular staff meetings and monthly in-servicesEnhance quality of service through ongoing program development and outcome evaluation Represent the agency at conferences and trade shows and conduct presentations on a variety Speech-Language Pathology topics

 

QualificationsMaster of Science Degree in Speech-Language PathologyLicense in Speech- Language Pathology from Speech- Language Pathology and Audiology Examining Committee in the State of California and from American Speech- Language Hearing AssociationMinimum of three years clinical experience, preferably within a non-profit or school-based environmentExperience and/or training working with autistic children highly preferredTwo years supervisory experience required, administrative management skills are a definite plus!
