Training and Outreach Coordinator

Position title: Training and Outreach Coordinator
Reports to:  Executive Director
Hours:   40/hrs a week - $18.00/hr
Status:  Non-exempt

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To represent the best interests of abused and neglected children throughout dependency proceedings. To submit to the court an independent assessment of that which is in the best interest of the child, i.e. a safe, nurturing, permanent home.  To assist with recruitment, training and outreach.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A.  Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Executive Director
B. Daily Functions: 
1. Assists with volunteer recruitment training.
2. Assists with screening and interview prospective volunteers.
3. Assists as a moderator and / or presenter for training classes.
4. Assists with development of and updates to training manual.
5. Assists with continuing education trainings.

C. Periodic Functions:
1. Helps to set annual public relation goals and assists in meeting 

  those goals.
2. Produce and distribute bimonthly newsletter.
  3. Supervise activities committee to organize events.
4. Ensures that current program literature is available for distribution.
5. Gives presentations within the community to educate the 

  community about the issues facing dependent children and to

  solicitsupport for the agency. 
6. Explains and promotes agency to professional and community 

  organizations.
7. Meetings, Affiliations and Organizations. Is a member of the SART

  and Foster Care Network and attends meetings monthly if possible.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor?s Degree in the social service-related field or 3 years

  experience in volunteer coordination and/or social services. 
2. Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within

  families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect. 
  3. Experience working with families given preference.
4. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. Knowledge of the court process.
6. Applicant is required to provide their own transportation and

  furnish proof of insurance and drivers license in good standing. 
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
