Treatment Manager

SUMMARY

Incumbent provides case management services to a caseload of foster children and to the foster parents who provide the care.

 

Position will be 20-40 hours/week.

Master's Social Work preferred. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required.

Travel at least 20-25% of time, local and some distance around the state

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Participates in intake process as needed and assists with the transition of the child into and out of the foster home.

2. Manages all assigned cases and maintains face-to-face contact as defined by the specific case needs. Develops a therapeutic relationship with the child and the family members in the foster home.

3. Develops and coordinates in agreement with the placing county, therapeutic, health, educational, cross-cultural and other pertinent resources for each case.  Prepares the treatment plans with all relevant parties.  Schedules and leads treatment team staffing meetings.

4. Complies with all legal and court related requirements related to foster care program?s role with each case. Maintains contact with county caseworker in designing and supporting permanency goals.  Testifies in court when requested by the county.

5. Maintains regular contact with foster parents and provides support, counseling, and education when needed. 

6. Maintains written case records and prepares necessary reports on a timely basis. 

7. Consults and coordinates with other service providers in a collaborative case planning approach.

8. Participates in LFS team meetings regarding assigned or prospective cases.   OTHER DUTIES include the following:

9. Assists in foster home re-licensing activities.

10. Participates in training and professional development opportunities.

11. Provides on-call services for all cases on a rotating basis.

12. Participates in foster parent support activities as requested.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  Broad knowledge of social work practice, human development, child welfare system and clinical theory; experience preferred. Skills and sensitivity in working with children and families from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds with a variety of problems.Computer skills including Microsoft Word, use of emails and the completion of computer-based forms.Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; Detail oriented, extensive documentation skills, organized and able to work in a multi-tasked environment.Ability to self-start and work well in a team setting.Skilled at crisis management, problem solving and mediation.Skill in provision of direct clinical services to children and families.
