JOB TITLE: Volunteer Center Manager
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Works under the direction of the Director of Volunteer Programs
BASIC FUNCTION:
To manage the development and day-to-day operation of The Volunteer Center. Promote volunteerism in Monmouth County and coordinate and develop volunteer resources and opportunities to meet community needs. To place volunteers in meaningful positions with the non-profit agencies we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1. Plans and implements recruitment, enrollment, orientation and placement of volunteers, either in-house or at the volunteer non-profit agencies.
2. Develops memorandum of understanding with agencies, and monitors volunteers on a regular basis.
3. Monitors income and expenditures as itemized in Volunteer Center budget; provides input into preparation of annual budget.
4. Supervise office staff including regular office volunteers
5. Maintain the Web site information to ensure it is updated regularly.
6. Develop regular newsletters and community calendar on a quarterly basis.
7. Assist in arranging recognition for volunteers serving in agencies during National Volunteer Week.
8. Plans, develops and implements a continuous program of public relations in conjunction with the Public Relations/Development Office, including participation in community and industry fairs/events.
9. Represents agency at appropriate local and state committees, organizations, etc. relative to the Volunteer Center.
10. Assures maintenance of statistical data and submission of it in a timely manner to funding sources. (County of Monmouth)
11. Keep director informed at all times.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS;
Collaborates with other program directors in planning. Collaborates with other human service agencies, governmental agencies, funding sources and regulatory agencies on a local, county and state level.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Majorities of duties are light duty, which require standing, sitting, bending, speaking, hearing, and manual dexterity and near visual acuity.
BACKGROUN/EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
1. Must have at least three years managerial experience.
2. Knowledgeable of governmental funding requirements and regulations.
3. At least two years experience working with volunteer programs.
4. Certificate in Volunteer Management preferred.
5. Public speaking ability and grant writing experience preferred.
6. Must be computer knowledgeable
7. College degree required
8. Must have strong interpersonal skills, professional, articulate and dedicated to the development of both agencies and volunteers.
