Workforce Development Coordinator
Finding Work for Those Who Need it Most
Workforce Organizations for Regional Collaboration (WORC) connects local employers and service providers to put prospective employees to work in the Greater Washington, DC region. WORC also provides pathways to supportive services so they can remain employed. The end result is the placement of individuals in good jobs with foreseeable futures.
As the Workforce Development Coordinator, an integral part of your responsibilities will include working closely with nonprofit organizations throughout the region to help them improve the services that they offer to jobseekers and employers. In addition, the Workforce Development Coordinator will manage employers? needs as they use WORC?s web-based One Click Clearinghouse (OC2) to fill their job vacancies. Essentially, the Workforce Development Coordinator will help to bring unprecedented efficiency and effectiveness to the job placement process and open doors to opportunity for thousands of job seekers.
The Workforce Development Coordinator must possess these primary characteristics:
? Demonstrated business development and business savvy, as evidenced by a successful track record working with business leaders to solve problems.
? Demonstrated politically savvy, as evidenced by prior experience with successful public/private sector partnerships.
? Strong project management skills as evidenced by prior success building and managing diverse coalitions to achieve specific outcomes.
? High degree of motivation, good judgment and self-direction to define processes to achieve program goals.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Employer Relations
? Manage the One Click Clearinghouse on a daily basis, proactively responding to employer needs. Troubleshoot issues and problems that arise.
? Follow up with employers who have used OC2 to post job openings, ensure they are providing accurate and detailed information and track hiring and retention information. Determine next steps, as appropriate.
Member Relations
? Manage WORC?s membership process including maintaining and renewing current membership and performing outreach to the community to recruit new members.
? Provide demonstrations of the One Click Clearinghouse (OC2) to WORC members and prospective members. Troubleshoot issues and problems that arise.
? Follow up with members to ensure they are referring qualified candidates for positions posted on OC2 and provide programmatic technical assistance as appropriate and necessary.
Other
? Prepare accurate monthly quantitative progress reports and quarterly monthly narrative reports.
Required Qualifications:
(1) Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience; (2) Experience in working with the private and nonprofit sectors; (3) driver?s license and access to reliable transportation; (4) ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds; (5) ability to listen and communicate effectively.
