Job Responsibilities :

* Design and optimize valve designs for Fossil and Nuclear Power Industries.
* Design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures, solve problems, run calculations, perform design reviews, and conduct meetings
* Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
* Analyzes technology trends, costs, and deadlines to plan projects.
* Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
* Advises management of problems or ideas which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
* Provides direction, training, and example for new and beginning engineers
* Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve products, and develops recommendations accordingly.
* Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must have knowledge of Design software and Manufacturing software. Perform stress analysis using classical strength of materials.
* Good knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, control systems as applicable to process industries required.
* Must have ability to read and understand P&ID's and Piping Isometric drawings.
* Knowledge of ASME B&PV Code Section III, VIII Div.1 required.
* Knowledge of Codes and Regulations as related to Nuclear Power Plants is a plus.
* Minimum MS Office, basic programming skills.
* Solidworks, AutoCAD, Finite Element, MathCad and/or MK database a plus.
