Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager of our Frederick Operations, the Assembly Department Manager will ensure that optimal operating efficiency and quality production is achieved at all times, with processes operated in a safe manner, in a 24 hour-7 day/week environment.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:Manages the safe manufacturing operations in order to satisfy product supply, quality and service levels requested by local, international and internal customers at optimum performance. Promotes and ensures the control of Safe Work Practices and procedures and demonstrates a respect for diversity and inclusion. Develops and implements plans and production schedules to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets and the required maintenance of raw materials and finished products inventories. Ensures that succession / redundancy and integrity plans & procedures are in place for the efficient, safe and sustainable operation on a 24/7 basis. Assists in the planning and managing of departmental budgets. Plans and implements changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work. Supports the quality control system and develops and maintains production reporting procedures. Supports the implementation of new technologies, new equipment, and production techniques. Assists the Maintenance Manager in the development of equipment preventative maintenance schedules. Promotes commercial awareness and performance monitoring within the factory to reduce cost of manufacture, and to enhance return on funds employed. Monitors and reacts quickly to changes in safety, environmental and operating conditions/unplanned events to minimise negative impact on the business. Trains or oversees the training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.
