Assistant General Manager (Operations)

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (Operations) manages sales support functions. Ensures accurate and efficient guest transactions, receiving and merchandise flow, paperwork, cash accounting integrity, inventory control, controllable expense management and asset protection. Assists the Store General Manager in over-all operation of store including excellent guest service standards, associate development and excellence in expense management. Creates the great indoors culture in the business. Accountability (this manager is the key person held accountable): Receiving/stockroom standards, disciplines, processes and store housekeeping standards, store expense and payroll management; guest service and cashier management, operations center and merchandise pick up management, safety standards, inventory control and asset protection.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Works on the floor with guests and associates to provide outstanding guest satisfaction
-Creates and exhibits a sense of ownership and empowerment in their team
-Strong retail operation experience, big box management. Other experience including: warehouse/logistics

   management, installation/hardlines management, softlines and guest service
-Manages expense accounts and payroll to maximize profit and loss (P&L) performance to plan and trend
-Partners with senior store management to ensure correct and efficient staffing levels are provided in all

departments and adjusted based on business trends. Owns payroll performance for the store.
-Oversees product flow activities,receiving, processes, stocking and merchandise pick up and ensures

integrityof the stockroom is maintained
-Responsible for all project staging warehouse activities
-Performs store audits and takes corrective action
-Oversees guest services, operations center, asset protection, facilities and systems activities
-Manage the facility and maintain building integrity
-Analyzes business results using the required reports, and develops and executes action plan for

improvement
-Trains managers, supervisors, and leads and develops their operational and leadership skills
-Leads a high performance management and support team
-Plan and coordinate miscellaneous events in concert with the Assistant General Manager & Projects
-Attends and conducts necessary meetings; ensures that meeting time for associates is kept to a

minimum
-Leads the store inventory committee
-Ensures compliance with all safety and OSHA requirements
-Adheres to The Great Indoors' code of ethics
-Always represents the great indoors by maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
-Miscellaneous duties as requested by senior management
