Business Manager - Warehouse & Logistics

We are Horizon Distribution Logistics and we have the opportunity of a lifetime for an entrepreneurial go-getter, if you are ready to roll up your sleeves and begin managing a new warehouse facility.

 

We just relocated our distribution business to a new facility and need to hire a hands-on leader to manage our operation.  This person will be instrumental for "Making It Happen".  It is not a job for just anyone, but if you have the exceptional drive and genuine passion it takes to develop a business and make it successful, then this is the position for you. 

 

BUSINESS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Summary:  The position is comparable to what a sole proprietor of a start up new business would

do to commence operations and make the business successful.  With an entrepreneurial approach, the manager will direct the personnel to efficient performance leading to profit.

 

Essential Job Functions:Responsible for managing the resources and staff of a distribution warehouse operation.Develop and implement procedures and/or policies that will improve efficiences, reduce claims for damage and/or lost goods, and other cost controls relative to labor rations, maintenance costs, and contract services.Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records controls, and purchasing.Individual must be capable of recruiting, hiring, and training drivers and warehouse personnel.Manager must be a strong leader, capable of motivating people.Must be fair and consistent with disciplinary actions and actions must adhere to the Employee Handbook.Duties also include maintaining customer satisfaction with our services by acting as liaison between customer and company.Participates in planning and training personnel in safety and plant protection activities.Manages inventory and distribution using electronic systems such as Veltion.Manage warehouse handling and vaulting activities.Ensure good housekeeping and clean up.Works with the staff in the warehouse when the business necessitates.Other projects and duties as may be assigned.

 

Qualifications and Minimum Experience:  Experience with warehouse, distribution, and logistics preferred.  Strong computer knowledge in Veltion, Enterprise Management Systems, and Movers Suite preferred. 

 

Minimum Education Required:  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).  A four-year college degree in Business is preferred.
