Contracts Manager

Laird Technologies is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials, thermal management products and wireless antenna solutions for the telecommunications, data-communications, computer, general electronics, network equipment, aerospace, defense, automotive and medical equipment industries.  We are currently seeking a Contracts Manager for our St. Louis, Missouri location.POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

?  Examines estimates of materials, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.

?  The incumbent is the central contact point for all divisions within the organization for matters relating to the preparation and implementation of all contracts.

?  Becomes the internal contact for the administration of customer?s contract administration, receiving and handling customer inquiries to ensure worldwide pricing integrity.

?  Management Customer ?Reverse? Auctions.

?  Audits RFQ?s to determine if more information is needed from the customer or Field Sales.

?  Responsible for gathering price recommendations from Product Directors/Managers, and developing into the final contract proposal to the customer.

?  Gathers input from counterparts around the world to ensure worldwide integrity of the final quote.

?  Works with Sales and Marketing Management to develop proposal strategies for each customer.

?  Accompanies Field Sales for contract negotiations and awards.  This includes all appropriate worldwide SBU?s and sales personnel.

?  Notifies all necessary personnel within the organization of the results of contract negotiations and awards.  This includes all appropriate worldwide SBU?s and sales personnel.

?  Responsible for meeting customer deadlines of proposals.

?  After receiving award from the customer, incumbent is responsible for preparing an award summary for management which would include economies of the proposal, parts won and lost, and recommendations for future proposals to the customer.

?  Responsible for development and maintenance of pricing data base including history and competitor prices.REQUIREMENTS

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

? Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements as applicable to a global

manufacturing company.

? Experience and competence in analyzing, developing, and negotiating customer contracts including pricing and terms & conditions.

? Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.

? Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques.

? Ability to develop and prepare business analyses and plans.

? Knowledge of the principles of strategic business decision-making.

? Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.

? Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.

? Skill in the use of survey and market research methodologies, systems, and techniques

? Ability to develop and deliver presentations.

? Skill in the use of computerized spreadsheet, relational database, and word processing

  software.

Global System Competencies:

Cross functional relationships/networking is required to perform this job effectively with all SBU?s, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Key Account Managers, Customers, Customer Service, and commodity Managers.  The financial impact of this position is significant in regards to customer contract negotiations as approved by Director of Business Development.

Decision Making/Accountability: 

This position establishes price curves and when negotiating contracts must maintain flexibility and critical judgment with specific company procedures.  This position decides independently among various courses of action with accountability for decisions.  Provides expert pricing advice and recommendations based on research that is self-motivated.

Authority: 

Binding commitments are made on behalf of Laird Technologies in the areas of pricing curves and contracts during actual negotiations.  Potential fiscal impact is significantly positive if pricing effectively gains revenue and negative if pricing does not gain revenue.  This position formulates and interprets Laird Technologies policies.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

? Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  Master?s degree preferred.
