Cooler Operations Manager

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Director, Operations South, this position is accountable for the effective management of the Company?s cold storage facilities, safety and security, maintenance, grounds and landscaping.  Will direct the efficient and timely operations of the cooler to ensure that inventories are appropriately maintained, loading schedules are followed, etc.  Selects, trains, develops and evaluates subordinates.  Maintains regular communication with sales and harvesting departments.  Assists the Director of Operations in developing, implementing and maintaining the annual operating budget, process improvement in loading/unloading procedures, times, etc., at the Company?s and independent grower?s cold storage facilities. Supervises hourly staff.  Other duties as assigned. 

 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

EDUCATION:  AA Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience specifically dealing with Ag cooling/warehouse operations.

 

EXPERIENCE:  3-5 years cold storage experience, preferably in berry operations. 

 

SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively supervise others.

 

OTHER:   Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
