Director, Supply Chain

Location: San Diego, CA

 

Description: Lead a cross functional team comprised of representatives from Distribution, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Information Systems and Field Operations to identify and implement supply chain process improvements. Develop and implement a supply chain optimization model that will be used to determine net landed cost and return on net assets for products as they flow through the supply chain. This position is both strategic and tactical in nature and ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate both abilities from past experience. Act as primary liaison with vendors for both merchandise and information systems as they relate to changes made to work processes and systems enhancements within distribution and inventory management. Together with Director of Inventory Management, develop and manage product flow forecasts to ensure efficient flow of goods from the vendor to the retail store shelf. Provide guidance to and direct the activities of Supply Chain Project Managers, Supply Chain Analysts, and Industrial Engineers. Perform special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements: This position requires a BA/BS degree in Business or Industrial Engineering or similar area or the equivalent experience due to the analytical, project management, and engineering skills that are required to be successful in the position. Grocery supply chain experience is a preferred as well as direct logistics and transportation experience. The ability to execute long-term projects that involve multiple departments is necessary. Minimum 10 years experience in similar work, with at least 5 years in a management role. Knowledge of supply chain systems in the distribution and replenishment area and advanced database and spreadsheet skills are required.
