Director of Health Information Management

The Director of HIM directs the hospital coding and document management processes in a consolidated model.  Job tasks and responsibilities include:Performs personnel management and staffing activities, including interviewing, hiring and evaluating Tracks and monitors productivity and provides timely and consistent feedback to employees Coordinates work flow assignments, quality control and unbilled management Escalates chart reconciliation issues Coordinates training, orientation and education for staff members Daily monitoring of the AR reports, including Bill 49, Data Exchange Tool/MSC Webtool and Report Monitoring Tool Serves as a liaison between Patient Access Services, CFO, and Medical Staff



Job qualifications include:Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management or related area preferred; equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement Current RHIA, RHIT or Coding Certification required Must have at least three years of inpatient/outpatient coding experience Management experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills required Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Able to work in a fast-paced environment
