 Job Description

 

Waste Management?s North Florida Market Area has an immediate opening for a District Fleet Manager located in our Jacksonville facility.  This position will be responsible for leading, implementing and monitoring the maintenance processes that support operations within a given region to maximize fleet performance, while reducing costs.  In addition, this position will assist with such issues as capital budgeting and planning, staffing, maintenance  and action plans/initiatives.

 Maintain an efficient fleet operation. Forecast budgetary requirements and manage costs of fleet maintenance. Provide leadership to personnel to ensure a safe and efficient shop operation. Conduct regular performance evaluations and conduct quality control inspection to provide corrective or constructive feedback as required. Develop and maintain solid employee relations as well as implement programs to increase job satisfaction among personnel. Analyze work situations and make decisions in accordance with rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the organization. Analyze, interpret and report findings and recommendations. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 (Education, certification, licensure, and experience that is essential to success in the position):Bachelor?s Degree in Operations Management or Business preferred. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Fleet Maintenance. Minimum of 2+ years in management. Familiarity with hydraulics, welding and brakes. PC proficiency with MS Word, Excel and other Windows based applications is essential. Must possess strong communication skills, along with exceptional leadership, problem solving and time management abilities. Experience in leading/motivating large, diverse workforce; must be able to build camaraderie/trust. Ability to obtain CDL Class A or B. ASE Certification preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
