Provide expertise in practices, methods and technologies across all elements of data and information management/architecture, from strategic to project/tactical direction, business to technical, legacy system data to the new, common ERP data foundation. The breadth of EDWData Architecture leadership includes defining visions for and executing toward the evolution of core capabilities in: Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW), Master Data Management, Legacy Data Mapping/Data Conversion, ERP DW/BI. Work with the Data Architects, Legacy Data Leads/Specialists, Logical/Physical Data Modelers, ETL Architects/Developers and BI Team to understand all data-centric requirements across subject areas and to devise appropriate near- and long-term architectural data strategies. Serve as one of the overall point persons to other competency centers and application teams regarding data-related strategies, architecture, approaches and capabilities to ultimately be delivered.
Collaborate with other cross-functional IT architects (e.g., for EAI and Technical Infrastructure) and with the data architects/modelers on strategies, architecture and emerging solutions for their assigned process areas/technical disciplines
With subject matter Data Architects drive consensus agreement on business data definitions and rules; similarly, with data architects and logical/physical modelers, lead the rationalization of data stores and corresponding data origination/flow for master data, transaction data and derived/calculated and summary data
Work across technology teams and collaborate with other Enterprise Architects to resolve cross-functional, business- and technical-level issues; escalate as needed.
Work with data architects and physical modelers to assess preliminary data volumetrics and key estimating parameters for core master data and transaction data; develop sizing estimates for EDW and ERP DW data stores of all types.
Serve as a key technical data representative to the cross-enterprise, business Information Management team
Communicate and report task-level status to EDF Common Services Lead
Work with EDF modelers, developers and specialists and interdependent IT and process teams to define key activities, timelines, resources and critical paths
College degree
Minimum of ten years of experience in enterprise data warehouse architecture principles, methods, techniques and technologies and three years experience with data/information management-related components of large, complex ERP solutions
3-5 years experience with Teradata required
PepsiCo or relevant Consumer Products experience preferred
Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data (e.g., KPI's); strong technical expertise in data storage/management technologies for both OLTP and DW solutions
Strong physical hardware understanding in multi-terabyte data warehousing environments.
Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management and data warehousing/BI and through experience with large, complex EDW initiatives
Ability to provide thought leadership in data-related domains
Ability to adapt his/her own perspectives surrounding enterprise data architecture and data management strategies and assist other stakeholders with similar adaptability
Able to lead/drive teams to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges
Ability to team well across both process and technology teams/disciplines.
Strong communicator at all levels and with both business and technology teams
Ability to integrate/synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive data architecture strategies/solutions
Detail oriented with excellent follow through.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams.
