Exchange Traded Derivatives Business Analyst

The role sits within Exchange Traded Derivatives Business Development and Initiatives (BDI). The incumbent will perform business analysis, compile requirements and write specifications, run testing, manage the implementation / delivery and status reporting for the portfolio of projects assigned to them. The candidate will report into the North American Head of ETD Business Development based in Stamford. Whilst the role does not incorporate direct people management responsibility, strong influencing and persuasive skills will be required to drive results from the regional Ops resource/knowledge pool, over which they do not have direct line responsibility.

The candidate will have a successful track record in performing analysis and delivering complex projects in a financial services environment. Derivatives/commodities experience would be an advantage, although is not essential.

Good communication and persuasive skills (both written and verbal) are required to perform effectively within the role. The incumbent will be required to interact effectively with and influence colleagues from IT, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Business across multiple product streams and at all levels within the organisation. Building a strong network with these groups across all regions will be essential for effective performance. The ability to interact effectively with colleagues from different cultures and to work independently with limited guidance will be essential to successful performance.

Logical thinking, analytical skills and structured project management techniques are required to allow the incumbent to break down complex business requirements into defined projects and deliver the specified requirements on time and to budget. The successful candidate will also need a solid understanding of Operational Risk, such that they ensure quality project delivery without compromising the existing client franchise. They will be responsible for maintaining solid project management discipline within all projects they are involved in.

The candidate will also need to have a strong appetite for change, resilience and determination to overcome inherent resistance to change and to champion issues identified during project implementation through to resolution.

Basic Qualifications

* Graduate of 3 yr. College/university program preferred
* 2-5 years of related experience required
* Project Management Qualification beneficial
