Fleet Coordinator

A social service Agency with over 90 years of experience serving greater Houston is seeking an effective and highly motivated individual to join our Facilities Department as a Fleet Coordinator.

 

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and enforcing the fleet management plan for the Agency.

 

To qualify for this position, a candidate must have fleet supervisory experience; valid Texas Drivers License w/ a good driving record; ability to obtain CDL with (S) endorsement within 6 months; strong customer service and analytical skills; concrete planning, communication and budget skills.  High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field desirable. 

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

 

Essential Position Functions: Assess transportation and training needs;Create efficient routes for adequate and safe transportation;Perform contract administration related to service contracts for all vehicles;Maintain up-to-date records for vehicle maintenance and drivers qualifications;Ensure adherence to safe vehicle operation;Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.

 

Operations Management:

?  Evaluate existing fleet, reassign vehicles as needed to meet needs of the Agency;

?  Hire, train, supervise, coach and evaluate the performance of all drivers;

?  Ensure drivers are trained, licensed, tested and certified as required by law to drive agency vehicles;

?  Collaborate with community developers, staff and families regarding driver performance;

?  Design, provide and routinely assess driving safety and other related training;

?  Manage component budget, assuring all expenditures are appropriate and within allowable reserves;

?  Maintain and recommend updates to policy, procedures, and handbooks per State/Federal regulations and agency directives and guidelines;

?  Follow up with Department of Education, DMV and insurance carriers in the event of agency vehicle accidents.  Investigate and coordinate all necessary actions and associated paperwork;

?  Maintain detailed records of gas and oil expenditures, repairs, inspections and routine maintenance.

?  Coordination and supervision of the mail and shuttle drivers

?  Identifies, recommends, and coordinates all maintenance and repairs of the agency vehicles in a manner that facilitates the delivery of effective social services.
