The Opportunity:

The General Manager -  Chemical will be responsible for growing NAMCO's pool chemical and other consumer product brands including Blue Cross and Blue Shield. P&L Responsibility.  Cross-functional leadership to expand current lines and develop new products within Blue Cross and Blue Shield and other NAMCO brand marks.

 

  The successful candidate will build the strategy and execution plans for creating value enhancing brand recognition affecting the Company?s customers, vendors and employees.  The General Manager - Chemical will manage development and execution of all aspects of chemical product lines.

 

Responsibilities  This newly created position of General Manager - Chemical will serve as a member of the Namco Senior Executive Team. The candidate will drive revenue and profit growth of pool chemical product lines in NAMCO's retail chain and via new channels.     

  The successful candidate will be a self starter, positive, and focused on driving excellence in product development.  He/She must be a collaborative, high energy, team player who has successfully executed a vision.

 

 

?  Strategic Planning:  Participate in strategic business planning as a member of the Namco Operating Committee. Maintain intimate knowledge of the Company?s business plan.  Advise management concerning technology issues, and create business transformation and process improvement initiatives.

?  Create business plan to grow BC/BS brands

?  Partner with buyers and other functional leaders on planning and execution to be fully integrated

?  Based on community?s participation and interests and input, increase existing product categories and develop new categories.

 

?  Business Plan Developments:  Research consumer needs and develop plans to create profitable related businesses in stores, on the web and in homes.

?  Customer Satisfaction: Develop service models based on customer needs analysis, customer feedback and store associate involvement.

?  Management:  Recruit, develop, train and motivate a highly qualified services team, lead by example with participation and involvement in all activities. 

?  Budgeting:  Create the budget, monitor performance against budget, and act to ensure budget compliance.

?  Develop store and channel merchandising plans consistent with seasonal floor sets

?   Monitor trends and identify and target emerging new market segments, which capitalize on marketplace opportunities, while still ensuring that the company?s interests and objectives are properly represented.

 

 

Candidate Profile

& Requirements  The General Manager - Chemical will be an executive with 10+ years of product management, and new product development, preferably with consumer products, retail and new channel experience.  This person will be a collaborative, high energy, team player.  This person must possess an intuitive understanding reinforced by a successful track record of identifying; anticipating and delivering what consumers want to buy.  Experience in a high growth company is a plus. 

 

  The successful candidate will have both strong creative and strategic planning abilities.  This individual must be able to rapidly establish credibility both within the organization and the industry.  As a result, the finalist will possess strong communications and interpersonal skills and be capable of winning and maintaining the respect of clients, peers and subordinates alike.  This executive will not only be able to sell ideas and accomplish tasks through others, but will be receptive to new concepts.  This person will be a strong decision-maker who can spot and generate well-formed ideas.

 

 

 

Education  A bachelor?s degree is required; an MBA is preferred.

 

 

Compensation  The successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package consisting of base salary plus a significant performance-based bonus opportunity, a suite of employee benefits and equity participation.
