SemGroup is seeking an experienced?Health & Safety Manager?in our Oklahoma City,?OK facility.

Successful candidates must meet the following qualifications:

?

Job Description? Manage Health and Safety loss control functions and programs.
? Provide support to senior, middle and first line management in the development and implementation of loss control and compliance programs.? Program support areas include emergency response, training, system and facility audits, regulatory liaison, health and safety compliance issues and development of loss control programs.
? Interface with federal regulatory agencies including DOT, OSHA, Coast Guard, EPA as well as their state Counterparts.
? Recognize, evaluate, recommend and implement policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with Health and Safety requirements of SemGroup and regulatory entities.
? Keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
? Ensure that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulations.
? Conduct reviews of health and safety program to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.
? Maintain professional knowledge of protective equipment; conducting audits, accident investigations and site inspections; developing and conducting employee training; assisting field personnel by providing hands on safety support at pre-job meetings with contractors and on-site visits at construction sites.
? Evaluate and make recommendations to Management on appropriate database systems or record keeping systems to track and evaluate personnel accidents, injury and illness in order to prevent new or recurring incidents.

Job Requirements

? Must have the ability to manage and direct a staff of 4 Health and Safety professionals comprised of four (4) Health and Safety Coordinators as well as Health and Safety Contractors as needed.
? Technical knowledge in the area of pipeline operation, construction and maintenance a plus.
? Technical knowledge in the area of transport trucking operation and maintenance a plus.
? Specialized training in incident investigations, fire fighting, first aid, spill response, excavation and trenching, etc.
? BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Safety required.? Master of Science degree or MBA, CSP, CIH or CHMM preferred.
? Ability to communicate well with all levels of personnel from field employees to upper management ? both written and orally
? Ability to identify issues needing attention, identify action plan to address issues
? Must be able to read proposed regulations and determine the most practical and cost effective method of implementation
? Minimum of 10 years health and safety experience or equivalent.?
