Houston Operations Manager

Mattress Firm, Inc. is one of the largest and fastest growing specialty bedding companies in the country. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our Management Team for our Houston Operations team! By joining the Mattress Firm Operations team, you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic work environment with the opportunity for advancement.

 

We are looking for a motivated and high-energy warehouse operations manager to help run our Houston area warehouse and distribution center. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of  managment supervisory experience in a warehouse/distribution center setting and will need to be very computer literate. We need someone who is very organized and customer-service oriented. Someone who has the ability to train and develop future leaders. This is a very high demand position, so only apply if you are up to the challenge. Additionally, since we are the number one mattress retailer in the United States, this position will require that you work weekends and holidays. Not every weekend and not every holiday, but this is not a Monday through Friday position. We do offer a five day work week.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

*Works with operations manager to create budgets that achieve the operating profit goals of the Company

*Orders and replenishes inventory to maximize sales and establishes realistic min/max levels to avoid stock-outs and inventory surpluses

*Maintains constant communications with district managers/operations team to maintain knowledge of upcoming sales events

*Continually searches for opportunities to improve efficiencies in operations so as to improve customer service

*Completes projects within the requested time frame

*Assists with the inventory/cycle count process

*Coaches and builds our delivery staff (contract and employee) on their practice of providing optimal customer satisfaction

*Makes sure that there is sufficient delivery staff available at all times to accommodate the delivery load

*Promotes "Same Day" deliveries to maximize our competitive advantage in the market place

*Communicates with Human Resources on all employee issues to include discipline, termination, pay increases, and benefits

*Trains and develops a successful staff
