Inventory Planning Manager

 



Our company, a well-established, wholesaler has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Planning Manager to join our team in Baltimore, MD. 

 

As a key member of the finance team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Inventory Planning Manager is primarily responsible for full management of the purchasing, product pricing, and inventory functions, providing financial analysis support to senior management and preparation of financial/tax data.

 

Essential Duties:Responsible for all inventory management including identification of slow moving items; minimizing out of stock situations; maximizing inventory turns.Responsible for forecasting and monitoring stock usage and status to prepare recommended inventory purchases; will prepare purchase orders.Provides key support and requires close interaction with the Sales teams to meet special requirements for key accounts.Responsible for monitoring production and shipping dates to ensure products arrive in time to meet deadlines.  Requires close personal communication with the Company?s overseas office and ability to expedite activities.Responsible for working with the Sales team to prepare pricing information to support sales quotations while maintaining margin goals Provides financial data and information to the senior management team; interacts with key company personnel on financial and inventory matters Advises the CFO and senior management of problems and recommends or take  appropriate corrective action plans based on analysis and forecasting dataPrepare and maintain a variety of financial reports, statements, records and files related to finance and inventory accountingAssist in month-end closings and performs other finance/accounting duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

?  The ideal candidate will possess a 4 year college degree in Finance, Accounting or related field;

?  5-7 years of relevant finance and inventory experience in a wholesale distribution company;

?  Expertise in financial analysis, planning, forecasting and reporting

?  Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and inventory management systems.

?  Excellent communication skills - - verbal, written and presentation.

?  Ability to analyze, evaluate and report financial data and information;

?  Must be well organized and possess ability to meet established deadlines;

?  Ability to work well both independently and in a casual, fast-paced, team environment.
