Laboratory Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all of the functions within the laboratory.  Testing, staffing, training, scheduling, maintaining supplies, and relating with department administration, other labs, and physicians; ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost contained, and are carried out in an expeditious manner; responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the laboratory director or pathologist.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  Education and Training Experience RequiredBS degree in medical technology or affiliated science advanced degree preferred.Must meet current CLIA standards for either a Technical or General Supervisor. Supervisors license required.Previous supervisory experience is desirable but not required.Experience with a laboratory information system is recommended.

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:  Special Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMT (ASCO) or equivalent preferred.Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and requirements necessary.
