Qualifications
This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Logistics in managing transportation costs through information analysis, network design and rate negotiation. Assists in developing and maintains procedures to maximize efficiency and control costs.

?College Degree ? BS/BA in Logistics, Business, Management or related field.



Position description
Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods using a computer to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May develop related software, service, or products. Frequently concentrates on collecting and analyzing data and developing decision support software. Develops and supplies optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.

?Works with multiple manufacturing and distribution locations to analyze current routing, truck utilization, inventory level and carrier selection and reports finds and makes recommendations to Director of Logistics.
?Assists with developing transportation solutions that span across facilities and divisions by improving rates, securing backhauls, maximizing trailer capacity and optimizing the network.
?Collects and analyzes needs and specifications and other data to assist in developing logistics program improvements. Performs analysis based on regional and national conditions.
?Assists in the development, gathering and validation of the metrics used to measure success in these areas and to monitor and evaluate new developments relevant to distribution of products.
?Prepares management reporting by defining problems, evaluation, and possible solutions. Assists with developing proposals for management review that include documentation of implementation costs.
?Reports on project plans, progress and results. Stays informed of logistics? technology advances, and applies appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.
?Assists in managing company fleet and material handling equipment.
