MANAGER OF LOGISTICS & INVENTROY CONTROL

Education:  A minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in a related discipline is preferred or equivalent years.  At least 5 years of practical experience in logistics operations to include direct experience in shipping, receiving, import, and export in electronics high technology and high growth is required.

Advanced training in import and export administration offered by the Bureau of Export is preferred. Experience in an outsourced multiple 3PLP environments with heavy Oracle experience.

 

 Responsibilities

 

? Responsible for managing freight and logistics, import and export requirements and ensures that customer on time delivery goals are attained. Negotiates freight, storage and fulfillment rates with
suppliers

? Establishes logistics processes and procedures to enable visibility and control of all routine shipments within the supply chain and to/from the customer, including export and import documentation requirements and transport, storage, and order fulfillment of goods at third party logistics providers.

? Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment.

? Will ensure all shipments that are delayed or expedited are executed in the required time frames.

? Responsible for ensuring legal compliance and providing import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including the daily administration of appropriate licensing for shipments.

? Responsible for the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of domestic and international transportation rules and regulations, including packaging, labeling, documentation and any other areas impacting the cost of transporting and storing goods and filling orders across the entire supply chain and to/from the customer.

? Periodically audits and consolidates freight, storage, and order fulfillment bills and escalates to the appropriate management if any discrepancies from the contracted rates are observed.

? Coordinates and audits the actions of the third party bill payer and escalates any issues to the appropriate management.

? Key freight, storage, and order fulfillment rate negotiator to optimize service offerings on transport lanes utilized by Alcatel within the supply chain and to/from customers.

? Analyzes freight volumes by lane, storage charges by location, order fulfillment charges by location, and agreed freight rates to prepare and present periodic projections of transport, storage, and order fulfillment costs.

? Recommends changes to inventory stocking strategies, order fulfillment hub assignments, and freight rates to reduce costs and optimize service and quality levels.

 

 

Job Duties:

 

? Analyzes and resolves any problems encountered within the logistics processes, including the investigation and submission of damage claims when warranted, and implements or coordinates permanent corrective actions as needed.

? Identifies any bottlenecks or inhibitors and recommends appropriate corrective actions to the Materials Director and appropriate management.

? Analyzes and identifies opportunities for improvements in cost, quality, and delivery and executes or recommends appropriate improvements.

? Division wide projects, as assigned.
