Responsible for managing new product development resources assigned to develop and commercialize Drug Eluting Stent (DES) products for cardiac applications.  Assumes a leadership role in gathering and defining the technical requirements for DES Programs which requires close collaboration with Physicians and internal cross-functional partners including Advanced Research and Development, Marketing, Quality, Finance and Operations.  Assumes a leadership role in defining the resources, time and budget required to successfully develop and launch DES Programs. Works closely with multiple functional groups to ensure that new products meet and/or exceed company and Federal quality standards, internal cost targets and timelines. Directly manages and supervises the efforts of a team of product development engineers. Provides technical advice and direction when necessary, assigns and delegates assignments, executes against program milestones, drives strategic decisions with cross-functional partners, tracks key Program metrics and reports the Program status to Senior Management. Responsible for mentoring, coaching, directing and developing Engineers. Conducts formal bi-annual performance reviews and manages formal development plans for employees. 

 



BA/BS or equivalent; and 7 — 9 years of related experience and/or training; Master's degree in the applicable field of Engineering would be an asset. Excellent written and oral English communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  An in-depth understanding of the Medical Device marketplace and the government regulations pertaining to devices (FDA, BSI and MHLW) is preferred. New product development and commercialization experience of medical devices is desirable (Class III/PMA medical devices preferred). Knowledge of ISO, cGMP and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR) is preferred. Catheter, DES and combination drug/device experience is highly desirable.
