Under minimal direction, this position is responsible for leading large, complex, corporate-level projects and/or provides project expertise on same.  This position will direct and manage the activities of the OpEx Specialists. Will also provide subject matter expertise on the consistent execution of Operational Excellence Methodology throughout the lifecycle of the initiatives to business units department and its clients, based on professional knowledge and background.

 

Under general direction from the Program Management executive, performs as a leader/supervisor of very large, complex, projects involving cross-functional/division initiatives and/or works with business systems analysts, managers, IT professionals and senior management to ensure that highly complex projects are properly defined and are able to delivery expected efficiency gains, revenue enhancements, increased customer service levels or strategic advantages.

 

This position plays a key role in the kickoff sessions on key initiative meetings.  This specifically includes the approvals of Operational Excellence constructs, management of post mortems on the projects as well as monthly management reporting.


Provides direction, guidance and supervision of assigned project management staff (SR. OpEx specialists and OpEx Specialists), and outside consultants, if applicable.

 

The main challenge at this level is to assess objectives for the assigned project phases and recommend technical strategies and tactics to satisfy business needs.  Applies a broad knowledge of various technical functions to anticipate organizational impacts.





In-depth knowledge of business process improvement, re-engineering, estimating and measurement concepts, of change control development process, quality assurance principles and concepts relative to standards and procedures, review process, reporting, escalation and continuous improvement.  6 Sigma and Lean in particular.
Principles, practices and techniques of project management demonstrating wide-ranging, successful depth of project management experience and knowledge, particularly on complex projects.
Experience with executive presentations and communication with c-level clientele, explaining complex statistical or fiscal information in a manner consistent with audience needs/capability.
Advanced degree desirable; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification (or equivalent training from custom program)
Minimum 5 years of business consulting or equivalent experience
Demonstrated ability in process improvement/reengineering
Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and analysis
In-depth knowledge and experience with the principles, practices and techniques of project management
Experience in coaching and mentoring others
Strong oral and written communication skills, including facilitation of groups toward deliverables
Experience in retail banking or mortgage banking desirable
