Materials Planner/Purchasing


Megladon is a fast-growing manufacturing company that has an immediate opening for a Materials Planner

 

The Materials Planner will perform a variety of duties to include (but not limited to) the following:

 

- All Purchasing requirements

- Maintaining and reviewing inventory balances

- Safety stock analysis and perpetual inventory recordkeeping

- Quality control

- Compile and report monthly metrics related to materials planning cycle times

- Identify and implement inventory reduction initiatives

- Perform periodic review of excess/obsolete inventory

- Monitor inventory levels against demand forecast and QC testing schedule; re-prioritize deliveries and sampling/testing activities to ensure materials are released and available on time to support production requirements

 

Requirements:

 

- BA/BS degree in Business or Engineering or related field with 5 years relevant experience. Engineering degree a plus.

- MRP/ERP system functionality and transactional training.

- Working knowledge of materials management, procurement and production processes, techniques and concepts.

- Prior career experiences as a production buyer or planner, strong MRP/ERP systems knowledge, comprehensive understanding of overall product flow through a process manufacturing facility.

- Must be a self-motivated individual with a demonstrated record of developing strong work relationships in cross-functional teams, with an established commitment to providing consistently high levels of data analysis, review and reporting.

- Bidding/estimating experience

- Previous ISO experience

- Must be proficient in Access and Excel

- Must be able to multi-task
