Method Development/Validation Chemist

Conducts method development, method validation and continuous improvement on analytical methods for existing and products in development.



 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 
Planning, developing and execution of method development/validation for analytical methods in QC at the BASF Corporation, Evans City site.
Determine, verify, implement the appropriate analysis method and technique.
Identify method and procedures for investigation of analytical discrepancies.
Develop, execute, report conclusions of method improvement, or qualification projects.
Support Quality programs and procedures.


Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Partner with laboratory supervisor to complete method developments, improvements, qualification, and validation.
May be required to work afternoon shift to accomplish work.



Solid foundation in Analytical Chemistry.
Knowledge of appropriate method development/validation practices for the CPI.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
Working knowledge in statistics.
Ability to work and communicate with a broad range of Technical and Non Technical personnel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
Good organizational skills.


 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in the chemistry, chemical engineering, or related science with 3-5 years experience in Analytical Chemistry.
Experience in Method Development/Validation and Quality Engineering principals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required.
Ability to communicate and work with a broad range of Technical and Non technical personnel

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Working knowledge in statistics.

REASONING ABILITY
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Experience with following analytical instrumentation/methods: Wet chemistry analysis, automatic titrator, HPLC, NMR, FTIR, AA, GC, GC/MS, UV-vis.
