The Manager / Facility Services is a hands-on management position providing internal support services, in a fast-paced environment, for a performance/results-oriented company, and a customer base with high service expectations. The position reports to the Director of Real Estate & Facilities and the primary department functions include Real Estate, Facilities, and Business Operation services.
Plans, directs and manages facility services Area-wide activities across 15 states. Develops effective business relationships and partnerships with internal business unit customers and other departments throughout the organization to enable effective delivery of Facility Services. Responsible for leading initiatives, operations-oriented project teams, and programs within the department. Ensures high-quality services are provided through effective staff management and proactively managing customer relations. Develops and implements systems and controls to improve functional quality and efficiency. Implements plans to meet business objectives and monitors attainment of those objectives, ensuring key performance goals are met. Approves personnel activities concerning hiring, training/development, and evaluation of staff performance. Develops, administers, and manages facility services for 24 x 7 business operations, customer work request tracking, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning, emergency response, food services, janitorial/housekeeping, mail/office svcs, critical systems infrastructure, security, parking, energy conservation, and other facility programs. Plans, forecasts, develops and administers a large expense budget and small capital budget. Implements Real Estate & Facility Dept initiatives, policies, and procedures. Work is done through outsourced providers and landlords vs. in-house staff. The position has field-based Regional teams who manage daily Regional operations and service delivery in partnership with the Real Estate services function in the department. Consults, advises, and plans with supervisor, the Real Estate & Facilities Director, on strategies to gain efficiencies, improve functional capabilities, and implement critical business initiatives. Manages a team of 30 staff in providing facility services for a 15 state, 56 facility, 1.2 million sq. ft. leased portfolio including offices, call centers and data centers. Travel required - approximately 45%.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years extensive management experience for large-scale operations in a customer-supplier roll. Facility management experience preferred. The ability to collaborate cross-functionally to analyze, recommend, and develop operational service elements, methods and procedures. Able to lead and guide others in implementing strategies; able to develop and establish measurement and feedback systems, acting as a catalyst for change. The ability to provide effective direction, support, and facilitate the development of others' knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback and guidance to help others' reach their goals. The ability to allocate decision-making authority and task responsibilities to appropriate team members, utilizing team members' time, skills and potential effectively. Proven ability to listening to internal customers and communicate complex and technical information clearly and concisely. The ability to communicate ideas to all levels within the organization, using negotiation, persuasion, and discretion to achieve objectives. Proven experience in leading alignment of business processes, procedures, and practices across a large, geographically dispersed organization. Motivated, proactive, organized, manager with successful experience in a performance-oriented culture and a fast paced industry. Experience in an organization with large Customer Contact and/or Call Center functions. Thorough knowledge of desktop software packages (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience in operations and budget planning. Experience developing, tracking, approving, and management responsibility of budgets and operational plans for a large operating organization. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery experience preferred.
