Mission Assurance Training and Exercise Planner, Mid
Key Role: Design and develop functional and tabletop exercises involving all-hazard scenarios for the homeland security community. Support clients in planning, participating, and evaluating their agency’s involvement in large-scale national-level exercises, including TOPOFF, FORWARD CHALLENGE, PINNACLE, and ARDENT SENTRY. Design, develop, and propose new training approaches and methods to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of operations center desk officers. Maintain an involvement in developing, conducting, and evaluating training and exercise events, including, as needed, writing scenarios, injects, exercise plans, playbooks, training manuals, and after-action reports, and serving as an exercise controller, tabletop facilitator, trainer, or data collector.
Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with developing, conducting, and evaluating exercise and training events such as TOPOFF, FORWARD CHALLENGE, PINNACLE, and ARDENT SENTRY
-Experience with developing policy documents, analytic studies, and concept of operations documents required
-BA or BS degree required
-TS/SCI clearance required
Additional Qualifications:
-Ability to comprehend, apply, and integrate knowledge of operational and programmatic issues surrounding emergency planning, homeland security, and all-hazard threats required
-Experience with providing direct support to senior managers
-CBCP or ABCP Certification or Disaster Recovery Institute International Certification a plus
-Experience with the Department of Homeland Security, civil agencies, or the military a plus
-Experience with government operations centers a plus
-Experience with the Department of Homeland Security, civil agencies, or the military a plus
-Knowledge of the National Response Plan, National Incident Management System, and emergency management a plus
-Ability to develop executive-level briefings
-BS or BA in Government, Journalism, English, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; MA or MS degree in Political Science, Economics, Business, Public Administration, or a related field a plus
-Possession of excellent analytical skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
