Operations Assistant (Direct Shipments)

Leading toy distributor, subsidiary of a global foreign parent, has an immediate opening for an Operations Assistant (DI)

 

Title: Operations Assistant (DI)

Supervisor: Operations Manager

Salary Range: $32k to $45k, annually.

Position Type: Non-Exempt

 

 

Scope: Coordination and processing of direct shipments (DI) purchased from factories in Asia to customers with Letter of Credit (L/C) terms throughout North America.

 

 

Responsibilities:Coordination with Customer Service on DI Sales Quotes (SQ) and Sales Orders (SO).Coordination and processing with Asian factories of DI Purchase Orders (PO), customers? L/Cs, and Commercial Invoices (CI).Monitoring of open PO?s status (DI) with Asian factories.Ensuring compliance with L/C terms and corresponding with banks to handle discrepancies.Performing month-end reconciliation of DI shipments against open SO and DI warehouse.Interface with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) to ensure receipt of DI shipment documentation and timely L/C processing.Liaison between Asian factories and other company departments on issues relating to open PO?s.Updating PO information in the ERP to maintain current status.Maintaining PO (DI) file system to ensure full documentation of shipments, including DI log.

 

 

 

Qualifications:Business Degree and/or equivalent experience of 3 to 7 years in similar function.Familiarity with Operations within an ERP environment.Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.Good interpersonal skills.
