Position Summary: Working in a team environment, the Operations Software Release Specialist will be responsible for the planning and execution of file transfers to our worldwide vendor?s facilities related to digital print on demand files, software general release distribution, and electronic media production quality

 

Responsibilities:
General Release Coordination ? working with the Business Application team and Operations Business Analysts, prepare, plan and execute the candidate pool creation process, the file batching, batch transmittal to the fulfillment warehouse, and confirmation tracking and reporting.

Systems Administration ? based on information from the Development and Marketing product release schedules and the Pricing and Licensing Team process and activities set up JDE and Vantive/Siebel systems in support of new product release, changes and life cycle transitions,  including establishing  base codes, part numbers, and  product status changes. Create documentation and communication for the Worldwide Operations and Service organizations regarding these changes.

Vendor File Transfer Management- develop protocols, method and best practices for the transfer of files and data to vendors related to software images, print and  document files.  Establish quality control policies and processes to manage version changes to ensure that the correct files are always available. This includes proof processes, print on demand file transfers, customized training courses and product documentation.

Liaison to the Installer and Release Management team ? Serve as the point of contact between Operations and the Release Team for the hand-off of images and production issue resolution. Work to develop joint policies and processes to ensure a smooth transfer of information and media to meet production schedules.

CD/DVD Production Quality reporting and Analysis ? Work with the media production facilities, the vendor managers and Customer Service to monitor and track Media production quality trends

PLI member ? Serve as a member of the Pricing and Licensing Implementation team

 

Position Requirements/Candidate Profile:

College graduate, preferably with a business, operations or technical concentration.

5-7 years of work experience in a software release related environment

Experience in electronic and digital delivery schemes for software, documentation and marketing collateral 

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of commercial CD/DVD production processes and vendor capabilities.

Strong overall systems knowledge, specific knowledge of logistics systems

Strong project management skills
