Operations Supervisor - Central Distribution Center

Job Purpose Statement :

 

BSH, a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-end major appliances, sells its products  through a network of distributors and dealers.

 

The distribution of BSH product is key element in the continued growth of the company. The Distribution Center is organized and run within the context of a team environment in which individual talents are combined for maximum benefit and effect.

 

As CDC Operations Supervisor, you will supervise the day to day floor activities consisting of both shifts and their supervision.

 

This involves organizing workflow, providing appropriate staffing, equipment, and adequate instructions on how to carry out assignments and ensuring results are meet and documented as required for the Distribution Center.

 

Reporting Structure :

 Reports to Central Distribution Center ManagerTitles of employees reporting to this position : Distribution SupervisorNumber of employees under this positions supervision, either reporting directly or through subordinates : ( 4 ) exempt  ( 40 ) hourly.

 

Job Functions :

 Timely and accurate receipt and processing of shipments.Maximized space utilization.Accurate and timely shipping of goods.Maximize production and efficiency.Minimal handling and transport damage of finished goods.Ongoing analysis of distribution systems for effectiveness and efficiencyCommunicate all pertinent information with the Distribution Center Supervision and ensuring proper information is exchanged between shifts.Insure training and motivate workforce toward continuous improvement and accuracy.Insure continuous accuracy of on hand inventory.Insure accurate information is recorded on all production reports to include total loads and pieces.Accumulate data for monthly reports.Insure monthly round  table  meetings are held by the supervisors and minutes are maintained.Insure only qualified individuals are hired based on BSH guidelines.Maintain a safe work environment.Insure all BSH policies are strictly enforced.Insure all compliance customer manuals are followed to eliminate charge backs.Insure all quality holds are activated upon receipt and all product  is isolated to insure not to be shipped to the customers.Insure all  goals are met including housekeeping, damages and  complaints.Insure budget guidelines are followed.Maintain working relationships between both shifts.Insure all documented procedures are followed ( handling, loading, picking, etc. )

 

Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions :

 

Warehouse Environment : Heat, Dust, and High Humidity

Office Environment : High Paced and Extreme Sense of Urgency.

 

Job Qualification Requirements :

 

Education : BS Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics and Operations

 

Knowledge :

 

Skill of Function Exposure :

 Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Experience :

 

Five ? Ten years experience in Distribution and Transportation

 

Machines, Tools Equipment ( Office and Industrial ), Software :

 Phones, faxes, calculators and copiersSAP, Excel, Word, Outlook
