PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, ALUMINUM MFG., WESTERN KENTUCKY

Our client, an Automotive Aluminum casting / forging manufacturer (non union) located in Western Kentucky is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team.

 

This position will supervise the activities of the assigned departmental shift leader, direct shift leaders with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates, stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of shift leaders and operators, confer with department manager and engineer to establish working schedules for individual department, maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices, recommend the hiring and releasing of production personnel as required to maintain production schedule, prepares the night shift schedules for night shift leader, assures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are proper maintained for efficient production, schedule overtime, as required, arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained, maintains good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions, takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, assists shift leaders in handling first-step grievances, and conducts second-step meetings, keeps records of department activities, as required, assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department, and in connection with individual shift leaders, establishes accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation.

 

Selected candidates will be a high school graduate or equivalent with additional college-level courses engineering and management subject desirable with five to eight years of directly related experience, with at least two years? experiences as a supervisor. Must have experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) and 5S. Automotive and metals / aluminum casting / forging background highly preferred.

Hours are 8:30 ? 5:00. Salary $40 - $50k plus bonus potential. Reports to Production Manager, Forging. 2 direct reports. Moving expenses provided.
