Plant Manager - Chemicals - Akron

 

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemistry, ChemE a plus; MBA also a plus
* 12-20 years manufacturing experience in a plant environment ideal; Open to chemicals, resins, inks, paints or coatings experience. Knowledge of solvents a plus. 
* Previous work experience must include a minimum of 8 years of direct management and/or supervision in a manufacturing facility. Must have operations management exp. Ideal candidate would currently be an operations mgr ready to take the next step or someone who has been a plant mgr of a smaller facility for a short period of time.
* Union experience a plus.
* Lean/Six Sigma experience desired.
*Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and motivate employees.
* Requires strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and leadership skills
* Requires strong interpersonal, influencing skills with the ability to interact with various levels of internal and external man

Responsibilities:
* Responsible for overall management, direction and coordination of activities for a manufacturing facility that employs around 60 ppl in a Union shop.
* Manage and lead a cross functional team of  supervisors, and administrative staff
* Ensure plant production goals are achieved.
* Prepare, review, and monitor plant budget
* Partner with Quality department to achieve daily goals and ensure quality paint is produced
* Oversee plant maintenance ensuring projects are completed with minimal impact on productivity
* Ensure standard operating procedures are current and utilized by plant personnel
* Evaluate performance of direct reports and coach, develop, and train as appropriate
* Ensure compliance with HSE regulations
* Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met by all employees
